Chapter 254 Poised to Wait (1)

In early 1907, due to more than 50,000 elite troops under the command of major local kings and nobles in South Borneo, they were ambushed on the way to attack the Lanfang Republic, and their entire army was wiped out and there was no more available troops.

After this battle, the aggressive Lanfang Republic Army was in power and unyielding. After reaching some ulterior peace agreement with the Dutch, it ignored the big cities such as Pontianak controlled by the Dutch and sent militia troops to invade the eastern and southern Borneo controlled by the Indonesians, carrying out operations to expand the territory and plunder the Indonesians.

In order to ensure the security of the territory of Southern Borneo, although the major local kings and nobles urgently recruited more than 100,000 Indonesians to form an army.

However, these Indonesian natives who were hastily gathered together and had never seen blood, were just mobs without combat effectiveness, and had no ability to resist the Lanfang Republic Army composed of militias.

Therefore, after several large-scale operations, more than 100,000 Indonesian troops were defeated by 50,000 Lanfang Republican troops and were defeated, leaving only more than 20,000 miscellaneous troops still holding on.

In the second half of 1907, after several wars, many towns in South Borneo were affected by disasters. Especially the towns where Indonesians lived, they were even more unlucky.

Wherever Lanfang's Republican Army passed, it was in a mess. They burned, killed and looted in the towns and villages where Indonesians lived. Apart from the rape of Yin women, they did everything.

On the way from these disaster-stricken towns and villages to Chinese territory, hundreds of young and middle-aged Indonesian men and women were escorted to be slaves for road construction or planting every day.

Of course, many young and beautiful Indonesian girls will be treated better. They are assigned to Chinese men as concubines, enjoy the warm treatment of Chinese men, and contribute to the growth of Chinese race.

Faced with such a steep situation, the major local kings and nobles of South Borneo finally realized that if they were not united and fought against the Lanfang Republican Army together, they would die without a place to bury them.

As a result, the major local kings and nobles no longer preserved their strength. They contributed all the remaining elite guards and formed an elite unit of more than 30,000 people.

However, it is far from enough for such a troops to deal with the increasingly powerful Lanfang Republic Army.

As the saying goes, money can make the devil push

After urgent consultation, the major local kings and nobles of South Borneo spent a huge amount of money to summon more than 50,000 strong and relatively brave Indonesians, mixed training with more than 30,000 elite troops, and formed an army of more than 80,000 people. Leaded by the noble Zafei, who had fought several battles, they wanted to give a head-on blow to the Lanfang Republic Army who was invading south.

After the People's Liberation Army Intelligence Department obtained the news, it quickly reported the information to the General Staff.

The General Staff of the People's Liberation Army, who was too weak in South Borneo, was unstoppable and progressed too fast to implement the Japanese army plan, was overjoyed and immediately ordered the Republican Army of Lanfang to fight and retreat, not to confront this Indonesian army head-on, pretending to be unable to defeat them, and retreat to the front line of Pontianak.

I don’t know that the Indonesian army, which was so high that it won such a great "victory", had originally wanted to take advantage of the victory and attack the territory of the Lanfang Republic.

Fortunately, the major local kings and nobles who had suffered losses have long lost the ambition to destroy the Lanfang Republic. They now only want to protect themselves and dare not be greedy for merit. Therefore, they issued a joint order, strictly ordering the army to stand on site and never continue to attack.

In early 1908, after several small-scale battles, the Lanfang Republic Army, baptized by blood and fire, and the newly formed so-called Indonesian elite army, entered a "stalemate" stage on the Pontianak line.

In early May 1908, when the time was approaching, the General Staff of the People's Liberation Army ordered the formation of the Sino-Indian reorganization division that had been established for half a year and secretly advanced to Southern Borneo in batches.

This Chinese-Indian reorganized division is composed of more than 3,000 Chinese commanders and fighters at all levels and more than 20,000 pro-Chinese Indonesian soldiers who have received brainwashing education. After arduous training, the combat effectiveness of this unit is only slightly weaker than that of the Lanfang Republic Army composed of militias.

In early June 1908, after everything was ready, the Lanfang Republican Army stationed in the area north of Pontianak issued a statement to go south to attack the Indonesians.

The statement lists the heinous crimes committed by Indonesians against kind Chinese for more than a hundred years.

It is pointed out that this war between Lan Fang's Republican Army going south to eliminate Indonesian local kings and nobles was a war of justice. If you want to save your life in front of the righteous army, you must surrender as soon as possible.

Immediately afterwards, the Lanfang Republic Army, holding single-shot rifles and large swords and spears, went south to invade and fight fiercely with more than 30,000 people in the First Reorganized Division of the People's Liberation Army.

At the beginning, the 50,000 Lanfang Republic Army and more than 80,000 Indonesian elite troops fought against each other on several battlefields. The two sides were evenly matched, attacking and defending each other, and they were hard to solve.

However, after three days of fighting between the two sides, the most elite first reorganization division joined the battle group on each battlefield under the command of the division commander Li Wei and the new political commissar Xia Xingyu and others.

In order to avoid exposing too much strength, the first reorganized division house did not use the latest American rifle, but just waved the big sword and spear to fight.

Even so, the Indonesian army on various battlefields was about to collapse, and was killed by the officers and soldiers of the First Reorganized Division and blood flowed into a river and corpses were everywhere.

The more than 80,000 Indonesian army that the local kings and nobles of South Borneo sold together was destroyed in ashes. From then on, the Indonesians in South Borneo would become meat on the chopping board and be slaughtered.

Looking at such a one-sided battlefield situation, Ye Lisen, the chief of staff of the first reorganized division holding a telescope, sighed: "Oh, our enemies are all too weak. Political Commissar, when will we fight a battle happily?"

After resigning from the position of Minister of Intelligence, Xia Xingyu served as deputy commander-in-chief of the People's Liberation Army and deputy chief of staff.

However, because Xia Xingyu had enough theoretical knowledge and insufficient practical experience, he volunteered to serve as a political commissar in the First Reorganization Division and jointly directed the battle with Li Wei.

Seeing that Chief of Staff Ye Lisen lamented that his opponent was too weak, the division commander Li Wei on the side said with a deep feeling: "Yes, the army composed of Indonesians is already very weak. Now their army has been completely lost, and even with our People's Liberation Army militia, we can unify Borneo.
