Chapter 5 The Secret of the Door

Agadi, the lower town, the smoky Abyss bar.

The reason for the smoke was that Wende smoked his pipe again, and he said in a low voice:

"Everyone in Agadi has heard a story.

"Legend has it that there is always infinite power hidden in the human heart, containing all the wisdom of our ancestors.

"But that power and wisdom are closed by a door, a door in the heart.

"The heroic ancestors of Agadi have found a way to open that door. They have all become various heroic and great legends.

"As long as you open that door, you can master magical power and have all kinds of incredible abilities to make matter or elements obey your orders.

"And these people who can open the door are collectively called...

Arcane Mage!"

"Sounds like an interesting story."

"It's not a story, it's a documentary. Arcane Mage is real." Wen De looked directly at Ahao, "And once you become an Arcane Mage, you can take over part of the Arcane Star Gate and have access to the city's real source of wealth.

, to become a [big shot] that everyone needs to look up to.”

Ahao felt a little surprised and unbelievable. Agadi's jobs that were slightly related to Offa Star Gate all had enviable high salaries.

If he could take over the Arcane Star Gate, even partially, he could hardly imagine how much wealth and power that would bring.

"How do you know so much, Wind?"

Wen De took a deep breath from his pipe: "Because I had a chance to open that door, but I failed."

The smoke he exhaled seemed to have a hint of sadness.

"But I think you have the ability, you can push open that door." He gestured with his hand to spray perfume. He saw full potential in Ahao's perfume.

"Believe me, when you open the door, you will see a world you have never seen before."

He stretched out his hand to Ahao: "How about it, come?"

In the bar where the air was pungent, filled with smoke, and the environment was dark, Ah Hao clearly saw a bright road opening in front of him.

He held Wen De's hand tightly.

"Okay!" His voice was filled with hope and trembling, "Then, what should I do now?"

"First, we have to go somewhere."

Wende looked upward, his gaze seemed to penetrate the ceiling and reach the upper city of Agadi.

...

Arriving in the upper city, Ahao saw Wen De's car, an extremely cool wheeled motorcycle.

Wind is almost sitting in a huge wheel with a powerful engine and luxurious cushions.

"Damn, Wen De, this car is so cool. Are you so rich?" Ahao had seen this motorcycle in a commercial street window. There were so many zeros on the label that he didn't even dare to count.

Wen De smiled and showed his white teeth: "Don't be surprised so early. I told you that I want to take you to see a world you have never seen before. Come on, get in the car!"

He patted the bucket next to the car.

Amidst the roar, motorcycles speed through the spacious streets of Agadi.

The strong wind blew, but it could not suppress Ahao's curiosity: "Where are we going?"

Wen De had already put on his goggles. He turned around and said, "Go to my house!"

"Why are we going to your house?"

"Let my grandma see you!"

"Your grandma?"

"She is a very powerful person, you will know it when you meet her."

Soon, the motorcycle took them to their destination.

Although the car had given some hints, Ahao still didn't expect that he would come to such a place.

A huge garden-style manor.

Under the sunshine in the afternoon, the flowers in the manor fully display their style. There is a row of exquisite buildings in the spacious manor.

This manor may only be accessible to real nobles.

Ahao began to recall what Wen De said in the bar. Maybe this is where the [big shot] in Agadi lives?

When he saw them in front of the elegant iron fence gate, the old gatekeeper shouted in surprise:

"Master Wende! You're back!" He said and quickly shook the turntable to open the door.

"Master Wen De?" Ahao looked at Wen De in disbelief, as if he wanted to get to know him again.

Hey, don't tell me. Wende, who was originally dressed as a bartender, became more elegant in this car and in front of this manor.

"Yeah." Wen De responded perfunctorily to both of them at the same time. Ah Hao felt that he seemed a little absent-minded.

After parking the car, the two got out of the car and walked towards a flat road. The closer they got to the castle-like house in front of them, the more nervous Wen De smelled.

"What's wrong, aren't you going to introduce your family? You just kidnapped me into it? Master Wende."

Wende finally smiled: "Okay, don't tease me. You are standing in the manor of the Northam family now. And I am just the most inconspicuous person in this family."

"Even so, it's an exaggeration. If you don't enjoy life at home, why would you open a bar in the city?"

Wen De slumped his shoulders and said, "I told you, I'm a loser." There was a deep emotion in his words.

In silence, the road seems too long.

The two finally arrived at the door, where the two maids who got the news from unknown sources waited for a long time.

They opened the door respectfully.

A lady wearing a complicated long dress came towards me.

"Hey, look, isn't this our good-for-nothing Wende? He also brought back a pretty boy for a change of taste?"

The words he spoke were extremely mean, and Ah Hao frowned deeply.

Wen De said expressionlessly: "Aunt, I have something to do with grandma today, please get out of my way."

Hearing the word grandma, the mean lady showed a rather fearful expression. "Humph, you have to rely on your grandma. People like you should only stay in the mud pit like the lower city."

Wen De ignored her, pulled Ah Hao over, and walked in silently.

Ahao was no longer in the mood to pay attention to the various luxurious decorations along the way.

After staying away from the mean woman at the door and the servants who often walked around,

Ah Hao immediately said: "Is there something wrong with her? Ignore your aunt, Wen De, you are a good person."

Wen De can no longer show his trademark hearty smile.

"Hey, this is why I don't want to stay in the Northam family. Losers will only get cold looks here.

"And my aunt, she is indeed a nuisance. She just wanted to use words to stimulate me to leave so that her son could get more of the Northam family's wealth."

"You were talking about losers just now. What exactly did you fail at?"

"It's the door. I didn't push my door open."

Ahao understood. He was talking about the door in the heart, the one that has magical power when opened.

"Since it is the door in your heart, how do others know whether you can push it open or not?"

"Haha, of course my grandma has a way. By the way, have I told you that my grandma is a powerful arcane mage."

"You said it for the first time. Are we going to find your grandma next?"

"Well, she may be the only person in this family who is still nice to me. If everything goes well, she can let you see the door."

As the two of them went deeper, the servants who had been busy walking around finally became less and less.

Beside a sunny patio garden, Wen De stepped forward alone and said something to an old woman with her hair in a bun who was guarding the door.

The old grandma entered the room behind her and soon came out to say a word to Wen De.

When Wen De walked towards Ah Hao, he finally showed a hint of happiness: "Grandma agreed to see you. Let's go to the chapel first."

Ahao followed a little nervously, "What will happen then."

Wen De mysteriously continued: "I can't say, but it's very simple. You just need to try to push the door. If you can push it open, you can push it open. If you can't push it open, you can't push it open."

Wen De took Ah Hao around the big house, and finally walked out and entered a small chapel next to the house.

The church is not big, but it has many stained glass windows. Under the sunlight, these glass windows make the church extremely beautiful.

"There is a church at home. What kind of family do you have?"

"Our family is not even considered the top family in Agadi. As long as you open the door, you will have the opportunity to buy a large estate."

The two of them casually found a place to sit down among the rows of wooden seats.

Wen De said: "I can only help you so far, Ah Hao, now I have to rely on you."

"You have helped me a lot, Wen De, and I don't even know how to repay you."

"Hahaha," Wen De patted Ahao on the back, "What's the repayment? I just want to help my friend."

"Thank you, Lao Wen." Ahao felt very lucky to have a true friend.

"Okay, I'm leaving."

"Why? Aren't you ready to wait for your grandma?"

"I don't have the nerve to see her. You can wait for me next to my car. I haven't been here for a long time and I have to clean up my room."

"All right."

"I hope you can give me good news later!" Wen De hit Ah Hao on the chest and walked away gracefully.

Ah Hao was left alone in the church, quietly looking at the magnificent murals in front of him.
