101. Laid-back and hot summer sound(1/3)

The day after the dance, July 21, the summer vacation officially begins.

Watanabe Toru still gets up at six o'clock and goes out for a run.

But the running route has changed.

Because he always runs on the crowded Shinjuku Avenue, he seems to have really become Forrest Gump, attracting many onlookers.

These boring guys regard him as a tourist attraction or a Shinjuku area anecdote! There is even a TV program dedicated to interviewing him!

So starting today, he decided to go for a morning jog on a residential street where he wouldn't mind his own business.

Route: Home——Suga Shrine

The residential areas in Yotsuya are quite dense and the roads are narrow.

In July, the blue sky is vast, the sunshine is just right, ivy, evergreen trees and various vegetation shine with dazzling green, and occasionally beautiful hydrangeas can be seen.

There are many ramps here, almost as many as the number of vending machines on the roadside.

After running the uphill road called 'Tennozaka', Toru Watanabe, who insisted on exercising, was already out of breath when he arrived in front of Suga Shrine, and beads of sweat as big as pearls rolled down his fair and handsome face.

Watanabe Toru sat on the stone steps at the entrance of the shrine, listening to the chirping of cicadas coming from the shrine, and took a swig of Boko soda.

"Young people today drink rubbish drinks early in the morning." Three old ladies walking around the shrine looked at Toru Watanabe's face and the drink in his hand.

"If you don't drink it now, why don't you drink it when you are your age?" Toru Watanabe replied loudly.

So the old ladies looked at him even more displeased.

While pointing at Toru Watanabe and talking to each other, he disappeared around the corner of the downhill road.

Watanabe Toru took another swig, sighed contentedly that it was full of carbon dioxide, and then pointed the soda bottle with marbles at the sun.

The patterns on the glass reflect dreamlike colors under the sunlight.

After resting for a while, I ran home, took a shower, changed into my school uniform and set off to school.

Although there are fewer people on campus during the summer vacation, it is still very lively. The enthusiastic youthful shouts of the sports club on the playground can be heard throughout all the corridors and atriums of the school.

As the training of the musical instrument department enters the sprint stage, it becomes more and more arduous under the pressure of Qingye Rin.

What she often says now is: "Be sure to memorize the melody during bath time and before going to bed. Those who do not put in their best efforts are not worthy of entering the national competition."

Even Toru Watanabe, who has gradually become a master of oboe, cannot escape being scolded.

"Watanabe-san, don't you know that the oboe in the piece I chose is very important?"

"Watanabe-san, why do you have to go to the bathroom for so long? Are you planning to live in it?"

"Watanabe-san, when you have time to play "Jingle Bells" and play games, why don't you practice your solo?"

...

"Watanabe, Watanabe, Watanabe," Toru Watanabe threw out the baseball in his hand, "I didn't know my last name was Watanabe! I need you to remind me!"

The crisp sound of a baseball hitting the ball resounded in the summer sky at the end of July.

Osamu Kunii, who was in the batter's box, shouted: "Good shot! Come again!"

Toru Watanabe picked up another ball from the basket and threw it towards the strike zone.

All that was unexpectedly heard was the sound of the bat whizzing by.

"Impossible! Carter ball!" Osamu Kunii shouted in disbelief as he swung empty.

"Wrong! It's a Pokmon Ball!" Toru Watanabe threw another Carter Ball that he had no idea what it was.

This time, the crisp sound of the metal ball hitting the ball resounded through Shen River again, attracting the attention of the crow standing on the top of the tree, overlooking the school building.

After playing the ball, the two came to the dugout near first base.

"Your ball speed has been getting faster and faster recently, and you even threw a Carter ball today. If you keep this up, you can definitely come to the baseball club as a sparring partner."

"Underestimating me? My goal is to strike you out before the game starts in Koshien."

Osamu Kunii looked up to the sky and laughed, responding to Toru Watanabe's bold statement.

He said: "By the way, when does the performance club competition start?"

"August 5th."

"There's not much time left. No wonder I can't hear the sound of musical instruments resting at all recently."

"What about you?" Toru Watanabe asked.

"We have defeated several schools, but I didn't play." Osamu Kunii pointed at a player the coach was training with, "Uchida-senpai, with his high-speed ball alone, Kamikawa can win the title of "East Tokyo"

The champion, the right to compete in Koshien."

"so smart?"

"Of course. Uchida-senpai is..."

"It's not about him. I mean, a good pitcher can make a team win?"

"Of course! If others can't hit your ball and score points, how can you win? But if the opponent also has a good pitcher, it will be troublesome."

Osamu Kunii enthusiastically told Toru Watanabe about the match between the representative of Hyogo Prefecture and the representative of Aichi Prefecture at the 19th Koshien.

The pitchers on both sides were all like Lu Bu - Osamu Kunii's original words. As a result, the batters on both sides could not hit the balls they threw, and there was no score in the whole game.

That game lasted for more than 4 hours, and the scoreboard couldn't keep the score, so it had to be temporarily increased.

"But if a pitcher wants to stand out, he has to be very, very strong, and if a hitter gets one hit out of three at-bats, the batter will win." Finally, Osamu Kunii, a hitter, said.

The two chatted for a while. When the coach of the baseball club blew his whistle, all the players immediately gathered and continued training under the scorching sun.

Toru Watanabe stayed in the rest area for a while and heard the coach curse "Baga" at least ten times.

It seems that no matter which club the coach is in, he always likes to teach people.

"Watanabe-kun, do you want some water?" The female manager of the baseball team with particularly large breasts brought a bottle of water over.

"Thank you, no need." Toru Watanabe stood up, "I have to go back to practice too."

"Yeah, okay." The female manager smiled very cutely, "Thank you Watanabe-kun for helping Kunii-san train."

"It would be great if I could really help." His current level is not as good as an automatic baseball pitching machine in an entertainment venue.

When Toru Watanabe returned to the music room, other members had already consciously started basic training and tuning.

Because he would be scolded for playing mobile games, Watanabe Tetsuya had no choice but to pick up the oboe, hold the reed in his mouth without emotion, and start practicing.

After a while, Qingye Rin walked into the music classroom.

"Start the ensemble."

"yes!"

Near the end of July, it was hard to hear the wind section that woke up Kujo Miki. The performance is getting better and better, and the melodies of the theme song and free song are deeply ingrained in everyone's heart.

Rin Kiyono's guidance also started with basic content such as breathing, intervals, and rhythm, and then moved on to more difficult expression techniques.

"Stop. Didn't I say here that you should play with emotion? Why is it that after practicing so many times, the rhythm is still broken? You must practice this well today."

"yes!"

Where many people think there is no problem, she can always find the problem.

However, before Toru Watanabe came out to absorb the hatred, everyone did not believe it when Kiyono Rin said there was something wrong, or they knew it and held a confrontational mood and deliberately did not change it. But now, although various emotions are unavoidable in their hearts, they will at least follow the instructions.

Go practice seriously.

Because they looked at Qingye Rin objectively, everyone gradually came to know her brilliance.

Even if she was suddenly appointed as a judge for the wind music competition, the people in the Kamikawa Wind Music Club wouldn't be surprised.

Thinking of this and looking at Rin Kiyono who was giving advice on the podium, Toru Watanabe said in his heart with great relief: 'I raised that child with my own hands.'

"Watanabe, the F note is high, do it again."

"..."

Just for a moment, the music classroom was full of girls snickering, which probably meant: 'You have this day too!'

The only thing that makes them regretful is that for some reason, Toru Watanabe is getting more and more handsome, so they can't find any place to attack him personally.

Time is moving towards the end of July in such a full and repetitive manner, and making great strides towards August.

Late at night on July 31st, after a day of training, Toru Watanabe was reading "The Great Matchmaker" borrowed from Rin Kiyono under the desk lamp.

This short drama tells the story of a handsome adopted son who lives with his beautiful adoptive mother, but is maliciously slandered by the citizens, and rumors spread that the two have an affair.

The adoptive father went from disbelief at the beginning to hesitation, and finally became furious.

However, the adopted son and adoptive mother, who had nothing to do with each other at first, supported each other with the "help" of these rumor spreaders, and finally got together.

These rumor spreaders are the "connectors" in the book's title, and the word "great" seems extremely ironic.

'Sure enough, 'amazing' is better.'

Watanabe Toru has no interest in drama. In addition to learning Spanish, he also wants to know what Rin Kiyono, a woman and a beautiful girl, thinks when reading this script with the theme of extramarital affairs.

Do you fantasize about the situation between the adopted son and the adoptive mother?
