I finally threw away the orange that I had smelled for a long time.

When I started "The Game of Love", I didn't think too much about the subject matter, the coolness, and the clichés.

At that time, I came up with simple designs for the three characters.

1: The handsome male protagonist who "can talk about love" and "appears to be toyed with by the heroine, but is actually playing with her";

Two: "She is rejected, but she doesn't care", "has no weaknesses", "can see through lies", "does not care about worldly opinions and only pursues what she wants", a beautiful girl who never lies;

Three, "Unreasonable and possessive, the protagonist has to give in superficially", "High status", "cruel", "Purely bad woman", "Extremely mysophobic, only allowed to be touched by the male protagonist", "Good figure"

The naming of the protagonist:

Toru Watanabe is not very particular, even very old-fashioned. Not only does he not look like the name of the male protagonist in light novels, but the people named "Toru Watanabe" in Japan nowadays are at least thirty years old.

He was born in the countryside of Iwate Prefecture, a village that was almost abandoned and had no young people. His parents' aesthetics still stayed in the era of Shizuka Kudo.

From the beginning, I never thought about spending too much time giving him a name that fit the male protagonist of the light novel.

I firmly believe that after a book is deeply rooted in people's hearts, the names "Watanabe-kun", "Watanabe" and "Toru" will naturally become more pleasant and friendly in the readers' hearts.

(I have seen someone change their name to "Kamikawa, Watanabe Toru" in the game, even though it was just a guy who came to show off his achievements)

As for a book that cannot be deeply rooted in people's hearts, it is meaningless no matter how nice the protagonist's name is.

Of course the heroine's name cannot be that simple. No matter whether the book is good or not, it must sound good and have a story.

Rin Kiyono has a beautiful appearance and awe-inspiring words, awe-inspiring manners, awe-inspiring eyes, and awe-inspiring personality. Even the movement of brushing the long hair on his shoulders is awe-inspiring;

Kujo Miki, Kujo is the old aristocratic surname, Miki, beautiful princess (original text: Toru Watanabe: "Miki, my beautiful princess.").

After thinking about these, I started the book immediately. I sat in front of the computer every day to think about the plot before I started writing.

Then, um, I did two test promotions, the first order was 100, it was miserable.

Next, let’s talk about how this book went from the 100th order to the current 1w9, becoming the champion of the “One Emperor and Four Sovereigns Essay Competition”.

It's on the shelves, the first order is 100... Cut it... Think about it... Let's cut it... Sigh, I think the heroine is quite attractive, a bunch of guys with no vision, then

Hold on...forget it, let's just cut it...wait...

When I was struggling repeatedly, a book friend rewarded me with 100 points.

One day later, another book friend rewarded me with 100 points.

Then, in those few days, the editor of Xingye, who was responsible for this book, sent a message saying:

"If the new book has been on the shelves for a month and your grades have steadily increased, you can ask me for recommendations."

Was this written specifically for me?

of course not.

But just like Toru Watanabe, who was overwhelmed by Miki Kujo and studied hard every day, amusing himself like a clown in his heart, I also amused myself by thinking this was written for me.

People can live in confusion, but if they want to live with motivation, they must grasp something (I suddenly wrote a sensible sentence and put it in a book another day for Rin Kiyono to use to teach Toru Watanabe), so I grabbed it

"[Tianming Zhiyou], [Dusk Light Smoke], [Thailand Cai Xukun]'s 100-point, 500-point reward; [Yi Conghan]'s reward for "Kujo Meiji"; [Tianming Zhiyou]'s reward

One month later, I placed an initial order of 100, and there was no recommended book. I wrote silently for a month, and you can imagine how much my results have improved.

No matter what, it is consistent with "stable rise".

With this idea in mind, I went to the editor of Starry Night.

I remember feeling nervous at the time. After all, the first order was 100, and maybe the editor’s comment was for those books whose first order was 500 or 1,000.

What I didn't expect was that Editor Xingye actually read my book and immediately agreed to recommend it to me - at that time, the results were abysmal, colorful, and pitch black. In short, it could be said in two words: ugly.

Not only that, from that time on, editor Starry Night began to guide me in writing books.

"Your book is good. The subsequent characters are well written and you can stand up. Remember to stick to the characters, write the heroine well, and do a lot of things."

"Everyday love can also have a main line, and it is not easy to collapse. You could have written a story about pulling, pulling, pulling and pushing."

"The heroine must have "contrast", push and pull."

I said: "There is a comparison. Except for the character of the eldest lady, everything else is different."

"You know nothing, I'm talking about the heroine herself."

I said: "What?"

"Let's put it this way, for example, "Youth Love Story", have you seen it?"

"Ah, I've seen it."

"Yukishita is sick, and the hero and a girl go to see her."

"Dango, Yuigahama Yui."

"I know. Yukinoshita was sick. The hero and a woman went to see her. The woman said she wanted to go in, but Yukinoshita refused to let in. The hero went up and said a few words, and Yukinoshita opened the door - this is "contrast"

Not only that.

This book later developed into writing chapter by chapter. Before writing, I would talk with the editor of Xingye in advance about what I wanted to write.

"You can try adding these and make a bunch of them."

Me: "Oh oh oh."

Two days later, it was late at night.

"I've thought of a plot, see if you can use it."

"Screenshot. (pink's curious gaze)"

Me: "Let me think about it." (It didn't work in the end. The plot made me depressed instead. I suspected that he was depressed himself and came specifically to depressed others, hahaha.)

Not only the editor of Starry Night, but also the editor-in-chief of Group 9, Mung Bean, took the initiative to add me when the book had an average of 4,000 and 5,000 orders (for a light novel, a completely unworthy achievement).

At that time, I didn’t know what an editor-in-chief was, and I thought other editors were trying to get me to write a book under his name.

If the editor of Xingye is the one who advises me from ear to ear, down to every article, then the editor-in-chief of Mung Bean is from a high position and guides me from the overall framework of the book. I will not go into details, so as not to let you take the editor-in-chief’s experience in vain.

The fact that this book won the title of essay contest could not have been possible without the 100 book friends who supported me in the beginning, the guidance of the nine editors from Qidian.com, and the willingness of Xingye Editor to give 100 books a chance to be ordered.

"The Game of Love" has reached 1 million words, and after experiencing a trough, it also ushered in the championship of the essay contest "One Emperor and Four Emperors".

During this period, I met many book friends.

Some are gone, some are still here, some have quarreled with me, and some sent me screen recordings of girls from book club groups singing in the middle of the night (so nice).

The book has also entered its middle and late stages, and I don’t know how much longer the story can be told.

But please rest assured that I will finish the book well, and I have already thought about the follow-up. It will definitely be a harem.

In addition, there will be no overly stomach-ache plot.

Personally, I don’t want to write a story that makes my stomach hurt. Most book friends read books to relax. In addition to exaggerating their emotions, they try to avoid stomach pain as much as possible.

For example, in "Family Travel", when three people are on a boat, I deliberately asked Miki Kujo to call Rin Kiyono a "lost dog", just to lighten the atmosphere and make the emotional situation of this book as relaxed and happy as possible. The same goes for Watanabe

Toru looks like Eri to the clouds (it also implies that Toru Watanabe likes "lost dogs" the most).
