The Overseas Chinese Apartment has two four-story buildings in the north and south. In addition to the roads, there are large green plants in the front and back of the building. The environment is clean and elegant. Unfortunately, it is winter, and the flowers, plants and trees in the courtyard have all declined.

In later generations, if a multi-story residence was built in such a large yard, there would be at least seven or eight buildings.

But there are only two buildings in the courtyard of the Overseas Chinese Apartment. If it is summer, they must be shaded by green trees, elegant and quiet.

Tao Yushu grew up in Yandali and liked this quiet environment.

The designer of the Overseas Chinese Apartment is Hua Lanhong, a well-known architect in my country.

When he was young, he studied in France and furthered his studies in the Architecture Department of the French National University of Fine Arts. After graduation, he obtained a national architect diploma that few people had at the time.

He could have enjoyed a life without worries about food and clothing and a social status higher than that of ordinary people in France, but he still decided to return to New China in 1951, which was still impoverished at that time.

Hua Lanhong brought the modernist architectural ideas he advocated from France and tried his best to integrate them with Chinese tradition and reality.

Between 1952 and 1957, he designed the Yanjing Children's Hospital, which was listed as a classic of Chinese modernism in the 1950s by "Fletcher's History of Architecture". He also designed the Xingfu Village residential complex in Chongwen District.

The exterior facade of the Overseas Chinese Apartment is gray with square and square lines. It has a simple aesthetic and is also very modern. Just looking at the exterior facade is completely different from the Soviet-style residences that can be seen in Yanjing today.

Several people walked to the door of the unit in Building 2 and saw a young man with a broad forehead, high cheekbones and dark skin standing there.

"Fugui!"

After chatting with a few people, Lin Chaoyang learned that the young man's name was Lin Fugui. He was the third generation of Malaysian Chinese who came to Nanyang from Fujian. The apartment here was bought by his father to support national construction.

Lin Fugui is currently studying abroad at the Institute of Foreign Languages. This house was originally used by his father for him to study abroad, but Lin Fugui has always lived in the school and has never lived here for a few days.

Last year, the country began to reform and open up, but the atmosphere here in Yanjing has not changed much.

During this summer vacation, Lin Fugui took a trip to Guangdong and found that there was already a prophet of duck water in the Spring River, and a pilot program for full-price sales of commercial housing had begun in Guangzhou.

These changes allowed Lin Fugui to see opportunities for China's economic development. He referred to the experience of several Asian economies that took off after World War II and set his sights on China's real estate market, so he planned to sell this house and buy two apartments.

Lin Fugui is an enthusiastic and cheerful young man. His Chinese is good, but not that authentic. He does not shy away from Lin Chaoyang and others and talks freely about his views on China's reform, opening up and economic development.

Lin Chaoyang listened to him for a while and felt that this guy really had something in his stomach.
