Chapter 30 The Black Truth

What appeared before the three of Qiu Frost Moon was a towering tree that could not be seen in its entirety. Ω

The trunk of the tree is so thick that it has exceeded the greatest vision that the human eye can capture.

Its height is sky-high, and the tree canopy covers the entire barrier like a heavy cloud.

The three of them looked around, wondering what the range of the barrier was or how long and wide it was.

Their first feeling about this tree was probably the same as their thoughts when they first met Gear City at the long night on the edge.

However, it is such a majestic giant tree that is about to some extent decayed from half of its body.

The flowing black unknown substance is eroding everything in this tree.

Under the gaze of the three, several branches fell down.

The branches were all black and turned into powder instantly when they touched the ground.

The ominous black continued to spread throughout the tree. Although the progress was slow, because of the huge size of the tree itself, its corrosion was still visible to the naked eye.

"These black things are the reasons why our war is won?" Qiu Shuangyue didn't know what expression to do.

"Wait." The mist believer took out a dagger from his backpack.

That was his spare dagger. He took out a piece of white cloth and wrapped it.

"Go!" He threw hard, threw the dagger out, and pointed directly at the corroded area.

The white cloth on the periphery disappeared in the air before it arrived, and the dagger was swarmed up by them as soon as it touched the black matter.

Then return to peace again.

"The corrosion of this thing is unquestionable. In this way, this tree is really solid and reliable." The Mist believer observed it and came to a conclusion.

"Our country applies such things to the battlefield? What is this?"

"plague."

A familiar and old voice rang behind them.

"Mayor?" Qiu Shuangyue turned her head in surprise and saw the old man who had just spoken.

"The townspeople are worried. I thought about it and came in with you." The mayor smiled.

He raised the crutch in his hand and pointed to the large black piece.

"This is the essence of the plague and the main weapon used by your country's invasion." He sighed, "It is precisely because of this filthy and evil thing that we surrendered under the leadership of the great royal mage Rin Slater."

"If we really want to resist foreign enemies and go to war with your army, our country may not lose. I always believe in this." The mayor said firmly.

"But in the face of the plague, we are powerless and have no solution." The mayor shook his head.

"You have also seen along the way that our country is a forest country that coexists with nature. Without trees, we cannot continue." The mayor's eyes stopped on the giant tree again.

"And the plague can not only transform our humans and elves into rotten corpses, but also desolate our land and decay our trees."

"So every minute your army advances, our territory will be reduced forever, not to mention that we cannot control the remaining plagues, because they will corrupt all the substances that come into contact with them."

"Under such a threat, we can only surrender and hand over the country." The mayor sighed again.

"Ask a wise man." The mist believer stared at the mayor, "How much land has this plague eroded your country, and where did it come from?"

"One-fifth." The mayor shook his head, as if he was a little reluctant to accept the answer, but he had to say it.

"As for how it came about, I think you should ask your country, your rulers, and your army what kind of twisted thoughts are there to make them do such a thing." The mayor's mood turbulent.

"Look." The mayor pointed to the tree and pointed to the barrier around him.

"Let me correct your words just now. This tree is indeed solid, but it is still not worth mentioning in the face of the plague. You are now seeing its corrosion slow progress, entirely because of this barrier."

The three of them observed around and found a chaos outside the barrier, and many tiny flocs were floating inside.

"This barrier does not belong to the space where we live. It is located in a special closed plane. In this barrier, the degree of decay of living things will become one thousandth of the outside, so this tree can be temporarily retained."

"What is this tree?" Qiu Shuangyue asked.

"It is the foundation of our country and the soul of this land under our Wanye National Football League." The mayor looked up at the giant tree, "It is the mother of all the trees in Wanye National Kingdom. If it dies, Wanye National Kingdom will also fall into wither."

"But it has now..." Xuan Yin looked at the dazzling black pieces.

"Yes, so when this sacred tree was corrupted, the great magician Rin Slater immediately opened up a space and protected it inside." The old man recalled.

"This tree has about two years of life. After about two years, the tree will be swallowed up by the plague."

"Is there no solution to this...?" Qiu Shuangyue was also anxious for them.

"Young man." The mayor looked at him kindly.

"If we had a way to cure this tree, why would we fall to this situation?"

"Damn..." Qiu Shuangyue felt for the first time that the country she was born was so sinful.

"You three are also determined to come to Wanye Kingdom to find the answer." The mayor returned to his usual smile, "It's a pity that the people of your country are still kept in the dark."

"I will definitely make this matter public, sure!" Qiu Shuangyue put her hands on the mayor's shoulders and swears with confidence.

"It would be great if you have this righteous heart." The mayor smiled kindly, "Although you are the number one player in the server, there are some things you can't do."

"What does this mean?" Qiu Shuangyue was a little puzzled for a moment.

"It's nothing, nothing, just think of me as an old man." The mayor said with a smile.

"By the way." Qiu Shuangyue suddenly thought of something, "Mayor, who is that Rin Slater? I just saw that you kept mentioning his deeds."

"He is the great national protector of our country and one of the four world's great magicians. He is said to have lived a long life, but no one knows how long it is." The mayor replied, with a little admiration in his eyes.

"It's only about a few months." Qiu Shuangyue thought.

"By the way, are you going to our capital all the time next?" asked the mayor.

"No, mayor." The mist believer replied, "Our final destination is Huaicheng."

"Okay, be careful on the way, I won't send it." The mayor nodded.

The three of them bowed deeply and left the barrier.

The mayor, leaning on a crutch alone, stared at the towering tree, and shed tears without realizing it.
