Chapter 1430: Remaining Poisons of Civil War
No matter how bad the tool is, it has a suitable purpose. This is what the emperor told Hammurabi's experience. What's more, Countess Katarina Karkov is not bad, she is just a little greedy for power and money. Such people are easy to control and predict. The emperor knows when she will be loyal, when she will be betrayed, when she will be vigilant, when she will be honest and upright - she is still in the space station away from the Balkans, and this is obviously not a place for her to show her strength - it's entirely because it's not the time. Regent Victor von Dum is creating a good working environment for her, a stage that truly suits her to play the art of power.
All this starts with the influence of the Yugoslavia Civil War and the Vienna Declaration and Programme of Action signed in 1993, including the Slovenian Decade (also known as the Slovenian War), the Croatian War from 1991 to 1995, the Bosnia-Herzegovina War from 1992 to 1995, the Bosnia-Herzegovina War from 1996 to 1999, the Kosovo War from 1999 to 1999. The armed conflict in the Preshevo Valley from 1999 to 2001 and the Macedonian armed conflict in 2001.
Behind this bloody war of more than 140,000 people totaling and millions of people homeless was the incitement of ambitions and populism, and the chaotic war between armed groups formed by blood, race, parties and religious beliefs. It was not until the beginning of the Latovian Liberation War that the emperor took out years of genetically modified soldiers and advanced armaments, defeated all air defense equipment and government departments on the Balkans with unrivaled marching speed and technological advantages, and completely defeated the armed groups in various provinces that were once independent of the Yugoslavia Federation. In the upper class and middle class signed an agreement to turn this place into a monument of the victory of capitalism in the free trade zone and the ashes of Conmeyism. This Yugoslavia Federation, which has "seven countries, six republics, five ethnic groups, four languages, three religions, two sets of writings, and one country", once again declared unification.
This does not mean that all ethnic groups in the Yugoslav Federation can be united from then on. The lies of ambitious people since the civil war and the deep blood feuds committed by fools have not been so easy to resolve. Regent Victor von Dum set up a Yugoslav civil war court for the Yugoslav people. It is the first step for the reconciliation of all ethnic groups. For this reason, even attacking the Hague prison in the Netherlands must let the people of the New Yugoslav Federation see their determination to clear the remnants of the war.
However, this is just the first step. The remnants of the Yugoslav federal civil war were not so easy to remove. During the civil war, there were many unofficial paramilitary civil armed organizations, which were responsible for carrying out dirty work that an official organization could not do. Many of the "non-foreign paramilitary organizations" were transformed into official direct departments after the war. After the end of the Yugoslav Unification War, these people were among the surrendered armed groups. They surrendered at the gun and sword of the emperor, but they still retained their own little thoughts.
Although these organizations are nominally already a member of the New Yugoslavian Federal Armed Group, Regent Victor von Dum knew that these separatist forces would never stop fighting for power and profit. With these people, the security environment of the New Yugoslavian Federation would never be better. This is the disadvantage of top-down reform. If the emperor had not had a loyal army, it would be difficult for the old stakeholders to clean up all, and bad bureaucracy and interest groups could only be cleaned by blood. Even if the emperor's army had begun to confiscate guns and weapons and regain the law enforcement power, someone would provoke the gangs with backgrounds and the comprador class who raised gangs to resist with force, allowing genetically modified soldiers to brew blood in cities and villages. Then those civilians who did not know the truth would resist the emperor's rule again and become victims of ambitious people again.
There are two options for regency.
The most direct way is to start a bloody war again, use violent means to eliminate these armed groups that may be betrayal and split at any time, or arrange them to clear the frontlines of the resistance to the separation groups, and let the blood of these organizations heal the trauma of the civil war. Another option is to use gentle means to clear them out of the power field of the New Yugoslav Federation one by one, and then retrain and integrate the soldiers to become an army that complies with the Unified Truth, in order to maintain the survival and development of the human race, the young men recruited from various villages, were blinded by the great "national self-determination" and false hatred. They need to be thoroughly and re-educated until their hatred-filled brains are cleaned up and then re-filled into the emperor's ideals. These are all good guys, provided that they point the gun at the right place.
Regent Victor von Doom told the emperor that he was ready to implement two plans at the same time.
When the first plan was cleared out the armed groups in the New Yugoslavia Federation, it was handed over to genetically modified fighters and the First Secret Corps. No one would know whether the paramilitary organizations that had participated in the civil war died in front-line firefighting or rear attacks. As for those armed groups that could be transformed, they would be completely disbanded. People of different ethnic groups, blood and religious beliefs trained and learned together to understand that people who were different from themselves were not bad people in the politicians, but were exactly the same as themselves, flesh and blood, relatives and friends, parents and children, they were together to fight against the enemies of mankind and protect those humans who were like them rather than humans themselves; but this was not all. The Romanian Purge eliminated at least 20,000 separatists entrenched in all classes and industries, and another purge led by Regent Victor von Dum was about to come.
The second plan is being implemented, including the Yugoslav military court where various armed organizations and commanders were retried during the Civil War. Countess Katarina Karkov was one of the links. No one knows the Game of Thrones better than her and the commanders of armed groups in various provinces of the former Yugoslav Federation. After all, she had a big business with these people. When she appeared again on the supreme power stage of the New Yugoslav Federation, the Regent and the Emperor believed that she could successfully take over the role of this power broker, and to offer favors, matchmaking, and unattractive skills such as frame-up, slandering, and sow discord to valuable places.
Some people will regard her as the emperor's mistress, but Countess Katarina Karkov is happy to see this misunderstanding. The emperor also needs to give her the invisible power based on this misunderstanding, and at the same time attract CIA spies with the weakness that ordinary people should have. Countess Katarina Karkov will not admit or deny it. Relying on this ambiguous attitude, she can do many things that the emperor and the Regent cannot do on the surface. She is very important, so there will be two reformed assassins and a pair of sisters armed personnel who follow her all the time, acting as her security and secretary. In this game, she cannot never arouse suspicion, and death may happen at any time.
After finishing the call with the Regent, the emperor stood in front of the porthole and overlooked the distant earth.
"Sometimes I think about going out of the airlock," he said to the Guards. "Just a hard kick, inertia will cause me to pass through the vacuum and fall into the gravity well and then float towards the earth."
"No one can withstand the heat of atmospheric friction, my lord, unless you enter the escape pole."
